Herdy and Brathay Trust Team Up to Create a Special Fundraising Notebook
We’re absolutely thrilled to share one of our latest collaborations. We’ve teamed up with the wonderful Brathay Trust to create a very special fundraising notebook celebrating their incredible 80th anniversary!
The notebook brings together two things we love most: Exploring the great outdoors in The Lake District and Herdy. Filled with playful illustrations of Herdy taking part in adventurous outdoor activities inspired by Brathay’s programmes, it’s a joyful celebration of adventure and young people discovering their potential.

And there’s an extra little surprise hidden inside too! The notebook features a fun flip-book animation in the corner of the pages — so when you quickly flick through, you’ll see a team of Herdy's rowing a boat together across the water. It’s a playful little nod to teamwork, adventure and the outdoor spirit that sits right at the heart of Brathay’s work. We absolutely loved bringing this idea to life as part of the design process.
Since 1946, Brathay has been inspiring young people to build brighter futures. Working with over 7,000 young people every year from across the UK, they support children and young adults from their school years right through to early careers. Their unique blend of residential outdoor experiences in the heart of the Lake District, alongside community-based programmes in Bradford and Cumbria, helps young people grow in confidence, resilience and ambition.
We especially love that Brathay’s work combines adventure with real, lasting impact. Their experiential programmes encourage teamwork, leadership and self-belief — and thanks to their strong evaluation framework, they can clearly see the positive difference their support makes to young people’s lives long after the programmes end.
As a proudly Lake District-based brand ourselves, we’ve always admired the amazing work Brathay does both locally and nationally. Being part of their 80th anniversary celebrations has been such a privilege, and honestly, we absolutely loved designing this notebook. Creating illustrations that captured the fun, energy and adventurous spirit of Brathay was a real joy for the Herdy team.

Our co-founder Diane Hannah said:
“For 80 years Brathay has been making a real difference to families both here in our Lake District home and further afield. We’re delighted to have created this Herdy notebook in partnership with the Trust, and we hope it will raise valuable funds for them in their anniversary year.”
Teresa Jennings, Chief Executive of Brathay Trust, added:
“We’re delighted to be working with Herdy as part of our 80th year celebrations. This Herdy and Brathay collaboration has culminated in the production of a special notebook which perfectly captures the spirit of Brathay Trust.”
We’re so proud to have played a small part in supporting Brathay’s inspiring work — and we hope this notebook spreads a little Lake District joy while helping raise valuable funds for a truly brilliant cause.
