Product FAQs

Because Fine Bone China is a thin and porous material, it can be prone to staining, especially if you are a black coffee drinker. Most stains will come off with warm soapy water, however, if you come across a stubborn stain, we recommend using ‘Bar keepers friend’. This magic bottle will get rid of tea, coffee and even red wine stains, it’s always handy to have a bottle in your cupboard.

On rare occasions, fine hairline fractures can occur in Fine Bone China Mugs, this is called thermal shock. It happens when boiling hot water is poured into a cold mug. If the mug has had a knock in production or transportation, there maybe a weakness in the mug, this can then fracture under extreme temperature. Luckily, this is a rare event, but can happen with fine bone china.

If you believe your mug has experienced thermal shock, you can email our customer service team at hello@herdy.co.uk please attach a photograph of the mug so we can see the design and the fracture along with information regarding where and when you purchased the mug. Our team will then be back in touch to discuss your replacement.

Unfortunately, we don't currently ship internationally, as prices for international postage have risen sharply over the past couple of years. As we are a small, family run company who use a local warehouse to distribute our products, we don’t have the options large companies have to ship internationally. If you would like a bespoke quote to ship Herdy products internationally, you can contact our Customer Service team who can look into a custom shipping price for your order.

Our website accepts all major credit and debit cards, you can also pay online via PayPal, GooglePay and ApplePay. If you would prefer to speak to someone directly, you can call customer Services who can place your order over the phone. You won’t receive any tracking/confirmation emails purchasing this way, so we recommend buying online whenever possible.

If you have changed your mind about an order you have placed online, the best thing to do is get in touch with us quickly so our Customer Service team can help you. Give us a call or email us with your name and order number.
